Echo VR was arguably one of the greatest games of all time, and the decision by Meta to take the game offline was inexcusable -- the Flamingo and Robots are still trapped inside!

You decide the fate of the Flamingo! We can't undo the decision to Shutdown.. but it's not too late to Free Birb!

Technical History

Flamingo Shutdown is created in Unreal Engine and shares a codebase with Bombyx. This means that Flamingo Shutdown can benefit from the existing development effort (over 5 years) that has gone into Bombyx, while Bombyx can in turn benefit from continued development brought from implementing Flamingo Shutdown.

Bombyx Fuzion

Bombyx has published over 100 builds to supporters via the web, Itch.io, and Sidequest -- with the latest Bombyx Demo and Fuzion DLC builds available now on Steam. Bombyx has been a VR-first focused effort and shipping to supporters since 2019 and publishing on Steam since 2021.

Supporting Flamingo Shutdown will provide resources to move forward along the published development roadmaps for content and networking.

Echo VR is Copyright Ready at Dawn and Meta. The developers deserve a lot of respect for the quality of game they produced, and should feel proud of how much great gameplay they provided for a passionate community.
